Seal Beach got in on the nationwide tax protest "Tea Party" on Wednesday, April 15. Braving a strong and cold wind, about 500 people, according to Seal Beach Police spokesperson John Scott, joined in the event. Other media outlets have put the number of protesters at 1,000, but your Editors are inclined to agree with the PD on about 500.

AS part of a Nationwide effort, there will be a tax protest in Seal Beach Today at the Seal Beach City Hall from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. This protest is part of a national campaign sponsored by Fox News, which has been criticized for discarding its journalistic independence by its promotion of the events.
In the very same week when two members of the Board of Education of the Los Alamitos Unified School District publicly expressed "anger" at the budget related failures of our elected officials in Sacramento, a recall movement against our Assemblyman was launched. The public outcry was palpable as the District approved the layoff of 90 Certificated staffers, all but a few being classroom teachers, and eliminated the funding for extracurricular activities for the marching band and other performing arts programs. But, this is not why our Assemblyman is being recalled.
