Kimmie’s Coffee Cup, a “home away from home”, is just the place to go if you’re looking for a home-style breakfast or lunch.

Kim, who opened her first restaurant in 2001, had as a child been diagnosed with congenital heart disease and struggled with the condition for the following forty years. After finally recovering, Kim and her two daughters decided to pursue Kim’s lifelong dream – to open a restaurant that helped to spread her kindness toward others and passion for life. The first location, in Fullerton, was opened in autumn and featured a menu full of comfort foods and meals that would both bring back childhood memories and be pleasing to adults.

Later on, the restaurant was opened in three more locations, including Brea, Orange, and Placentia. Recently I’ve visited the smallest one of the four, which can be found on the end of Orange’s Olde Towne circle.

Finding a table was no problem; the four of us were seated in a matter of seconds. The waiting time after that, however, could have been better. Although the waitresses, who all wear little aprons that match Kimmie’s Coffee Cup’s cute and feminine atmosphere, were very friendly, they could have checked up on our table more frequently.

When we finally received our food, we realized that it was worth the wait. Kimmie’s “home-style meals” are no joke; they’re sure to please the tastebuds of even the pickiest diners. The restaurant’s chefs are expert at putting together the best of creamy potato soups, and they put out the perfect breakfast sandwich, composed of bacon, cheese, and egg all between a croissant. In addition, they seem to make their own ranch dressing and French-dip sandwich sauce, which is a bonus. There was nothing to dislike about the meal.

And lucky for those who are on a budget, Kimmie’s Coffee Cup won’t break the bank. Each meal, drink, and side dish is reasonably priced, especially for the taste. It’s a great place to go if you’re having breakfast or lunch with family.
