For those who seek a diverse menu, amiable service, and a family-friendly attitude, the Lazy Dog Cafe is the perfect place.

Founded by Chris Simms in 2003, the Lazy Dog Cafe was meant to capture the comfortable, toasty atmosphere that radiated from Simm’s favorite mountain lodge in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. And it does just that – the wooden beams on the ceiling and walls help to create a rustic environment, while dog-themed paintings and seat patterns make the restaurant kid-friendly. More importantly, hosts and waiters are bound to treat you like family, even the first time you visit. You’ll never leave without a smile sent your way.

The menu is apt to please everyone – for diners who crave home-style meals, the restaurant offers hearty dishes like meatloaf and chicken pot pie. For those who are in the mood for some more cultural cuisine, the menu includes plates such as teriyaki chicken, sundried tomato pesto penne, and Mediterranean mahi-mahi. If you have a sweet tooth, The Lazy Dog Cafe offers tasty desserts as well.

I personally have visited the Lazy Dog Cafe many times and at multiple locations, and I’ve never been disappointed. Their appetizers can feed a pretty large group of people without sacrificing quality for quantity, and their desserts never fail to satisfy my (and my confection-loving family’s) sweet tooth. My favorite dish would have to be the fettuccine alfredo, which comes covered with a creamy parmesan sauce and sprinkled with parsley and diced tomato. Each bowl comes with a slice of their famous flat-bread.

If you aren’t a pasta person, I highly recommend their grilled three-cheese sandwich (a trip back to your childhood while pleasing the adult tastebuds) with a cup of caesar salad. And if you happen to be visiting in the morning, try their breakfast quesadilla: a dish that’s sure to be unique to the Lazy Dog Cafe.

As per their name, the Lazy Dog Cafe allows customers to bring their dogs to locations that offer outdoor seating. Don’t let your family pet miss out on the great food – there’s a small menu just for dogs, including chopped beef and gravy-covered rice.

All in all, the Lazy Dog Cafe is the perfect place whether you’re out with family, on a date, or meeting up with friends. The restaurant’s drinks, meals, and desserts are all reasonably priced, especially for the great taste you’re getting.
