At 11:30 AM today, it was cold, but the sun was shining brightly. The elderly Rossmoor resident probably didn’t give a second thought to going outside to get her paper in the 11600 block of Weatherby.
“When she went out her door, two male Hispanic suspects confronted her,” Sheriff’s Department Spokesman Jim Amormino told OC180NEWS. “One produced a handgun, put it up against her neck, ordered her back inside the resident, and tied her to a chair.”
The robbers then proceeded to physically remove all the victim’s jewelry and completely ransacked the home.
“They put a towel over her head,” Amormino said. As they were grabbing her jewelry, “they tore some buttons off her blouse.”
The suspects were described as Male Hispanics, in their twenties, 5’4” to 5’6”. Some nearby construction workers observed the suspects leaving in a small white pickup truck. No other identification was available.
The attackers took the contents of her purse. The missing contents from the house were being inventoried. The woman, who lives alone, was not injured.
“She’s traumatized,” Amormino told us. “Physically unhurt, but traumatized as one would imagine.”
