On Wednesday, March 18, 2009, my brother Jose Apodaca called me from school to tell me that Air Force One would be landing at the Long Beach Airport around 3:30 pm. I told my Mom and my Grandma and we all rushed to the car and drove to the Long Beach Airport.
As we were approaching the airport, my mom said “Look for an airplane, keep your eyes on the sky”. One minute later President Obama’s plane, Air Force One, flew right in front of us. The plane was flying really low. It was a beautiful moment. We felt very proud and could not believe our eyes.
When we arrived at the airport President Obama came out of the plane and boarded a helicopter. As we were parking at the airport’s parking lot, we saw 5 helicopters take off. One of them was carrying our president. It was amazing and a proud moment for all of us.
Today we are all proud to be Americans. God Bless President Obama.
