On Monday, January 26, 2009 at 4:43pm, officers from the Seal Beach Police Department were dispatched to the Wachovia Bank at 13962 Seal Beach Blvd. regarding a report of a bank robbery that had just occurred.
Responding officers learned that a lone male suspect approached a teller window and demanded money. The suspect made threats while displaying a shiny object that appeared to be a weapon.
After receiving an undetermined amount of cash from the teller, the suspect left the east door of the bank and fled on a bicycle northbound through the parking lot.
No injuries were sustained and the amount of the loss is pending. The suspect is described as a Male Caucasian, 35 years of age, 5’-6” tall, 175 lbs, wearing a black beanie, brown jacket, brown shirt, black jeans and white tennis shoes.
